Australian Wildflowers in Top 5 Reference Apps! ~ Update in progress

May 17, 2012

Over the past few months I’ve received a number of emails from users of Australian Wildflowers asking when an update will be released. Many users have requested specific flowers to be included as well as suggesting great feature ideas for the next version. Thank you to everyone who has contacted me, your feedback and encouragement is awesome. In regards to the update, it is still a while away. I am working on it (part-time). I am adding a large number of new flowers to the database as well as optimising the interface and quality of the photographs for use on the retina iPad. Sourcing high quality images is tricky. Tonight I was delighted to see that it’s made it to 5th position in the iTunes store Reference chart! Great. Stay tuned for more information!

My go to resource for learning iOS development would be two outstanding Internet forums, packed with useful information and helpful people:

I find some of the video tutorials on YouTube very helpful, some recommendations include: (High School student, clear easy to follow explanations)

This book is an outstanding introduction to Objective-C :

The best two books as an introduction specifically to iOS development include:

  2. (Third Edition has not been printed yet, 2nd Edition does not account for updates to the SDK and iOS).
